What Our Clients Say

“The learnings from the trauma informed practices training have become a cornerstone of my youth work. Afterwards, I couldn't believe I'd gone decades in this field without learning about trauma. The facilitators bring a robust and well-rounded approach from years of experience in both mental health and education. They also center racial equity as a vital component in fully understanding the depth of trauma that is present in our society. A truly essential workshop!”

-B.E. Metropolitan Family Services, Alignment Coordinator (2017)

“As a vice principal, I'm always looking for the most engaging Professional Development for my staff. Village Resiliency (then known as Sankofa Counseling) provided our staff with an amazing presentation around growth mindset. When reviewing the staff survey, 95% of the staff found the training to be helpful and asked for a second round. I'd definitely utilize the services of Village Resiliency in the future.”

— Taye Spears, Vice Principal, Alice Ott Middle School (2018)

Michelle and Vanessa at Village Resiliency are nothing short of amazing. As facilitators for a 2-year cohort for our ministry staff, they created safe spaces in which we could all not only learn how to support youth in our ministries but also move to healthier places ourselves. Because of their warm presence and leadership styles, our times together became places in which we were able to safely discover areas in our lives that were in need of healing. Learning the science behind what happens in our bodies as we deal with trauma, as well as coping skills, was not only invaluable in our own personal lives, but also as we serve and invest in the lives of young people. Such a great investment!
